Job Summary:
Catholic Relief Services is looking for an experienced Web Developer to join the CRS Web team as a lead PHP web and Wordpress developer. You need to be able to bend Wordpress at will and be expert in standards-based front and back-end web development. You should have a keen web design sensibility and a love of all things related to web publishing. You should also have an affinity for a mission-based organization doing amazing work around the world.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead developer of the multiple Catholic Relief Services web properties
• Develop custom CRS Wordpress themes
• Develop a CRS Wordpress multisite environment
• Lead the development of a responsive front-end framework for all CRS sites
• Lead the development of a CRS native mobile application
• Integrate CRS web properties with existing online fundraising, social media and email marketing applications
• Lead the development of a robust code repository (GIT or SVN)

Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Web/Multimedia team, Communications, US Operations Domestic Program teams, Graphic Services, Online Community team, Fundraising.
External: Software vendors, external advertising and marketing agencies, freelance designers and developers, external hosting providers.
Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge of the Wordpress Content Management Framework
• 3 –5 years experience developing web applications and websites
• Expert knowledge of html5, css3 and current web standards, including responsive design and development practices
• Experience with jQuery or other JavaScript Frameworks
• Experience leveraging third-party and social APIs (Facebook/Twitter)
• Experience with Versioning Control Systems such as Git, CVS, or SVN
• Expert proficiency in the Adobe Web Creative suite
• Expert understanding of website and web application architecture
• Experience with MySQL databases
• Experience with web server administration, particularly LAMP environments/Linux/Apache Configuration/Security
• Experience with bug tracking/resolution
• Experience with proper code documentation
• Experience with an Agile Development Process
• Some iOS Mobile App Development and integration experience is desirable
Language:
Spanish language proficiency preferred
