ROLE PURPOSE:

You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and supporting a wide variety of applications for NBC’s Local Integrated Media division that are built on various technologies. As part of this team you will get an opportunity to learn different facets of business and interact with dynamic teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 • Working with Editors and other business stakeholders to build websites using VELOCITY templates in Content Management Systems

 • Working closely with project/product managers to meet timelines and create new requested features

 • Designing and coding core java/j2ee based application

 • Work with XML/RSS/ATOM and other data interchange standards to parse and ingest data in the CMS

 • Working on EC2 and other infrastructure platforms

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 • Minimum 4+ years working with parsing JSON objects and XML feeds

 • Minimum of 6+ years working with Java and related technologies

 • Minimum of 4+ years of working with MYSQL or any relational database

 • Minimum of 4+ years of working knowledge with Ajax

 • Very clear understanding of Object Oriented Principles, RDBMS and various architecture styles

 • Experience with tomcat and Apache

 • Working closely with BAs and Qas

 • Experience with deploying application

 • Experience with using SVN

 • Minimum of 4+ years of hands on knowledge with Memcache or any other caching technology

 • Experience in using different design patterns

 • Minimum of 6+ months of velocity coding experience

 • Working knowledge of different DNS, load balancing, caching & scripting

 • Should have worked on large-scale Internet sites/application and done performance tuning

 • Should have good understanding of HTML/CSS/Javascript and integration knowledge

 • Required Skills XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML, Java/J2EE, MYSQL/Oracle, XML/RSS/ATOM, java threading

 • An understanding of HTML/CSS/Javascript and integration knowledge. XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, JSON, XML, Velocity, Java/J2EE, MYSQL/Oracle, Linux, Unix, XML/RSS/ATOM, DOM/SAX parsing, Spring/Hibernate, Java threading

 • Working knowledge of iphone API, Android API and experience in building mobile based websites is a plus

 • Computer Science degree & Certification in related technologies
