Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to extend existing functionality and create new features
  • Craft and maintain applications optimized for both desktop and mobile web browsers.
  • Implement beautiful user interfaces.
  • Co-develop powerful backend services and APIs. 

Requirements

  • Extraordinary software engineering talent.
  • Passion for implementing beautiful user interfaces using HTML and CSS.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript.
  • Proficient in developing dynamic applications with Python or Ruby in an established framework. (Flask, Django, Rails)
  • An iterative approach to building software.
  • Expert ability to get things done on a small team.
  • Ability to implement pixel-perfect interfaces from designs.
  • Experience using new CSS3 features; animations, transitions, etc. 

Ideally

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience designing custom frameworks.
  • Active contribution to open source software.
  • Experience with MongoDB or similar document-oriented data stores.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience working on a high traffic web application.
  • UI design experience, proficiency with Photoshop or similar software.
  • Experience with data visualization, mapping, d3 , etc.
