Who we are
We are a small company, bootstrapped and based in beautiful Boise, Idaho. We are currently focused on two projects: The Theme Foundry and Memberful (still in development). If you want to read more about our story see The last 3 years.
Our team is made up of two founders (Drew and Jennifer), one full-time developer (Andy), one full-time designer (Scott), and a few part-time contractors. This means you will have a huge hand in helping shape our young company. It also means you won't be bored. Much of your time will be spent working on projects, but you will also be helping out with support, writing documentation, and posting to our blog.
Who you are
A smart, talented, and self-managed developer who writes and communicates effectively. We don't have any specific experience requirements, but you must be a programmer at heart. You are familiar with or more than capable of quickly learning how to use: PHP (WordPress), Ruby (Rails), JavaScript (jQuery / Ajax), Git, SVN, ORM, OOP, Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Linux (Debian), Bash, HTML, CSS.
What you'll do
To start, you will mostly be writing PHP, Ruby, and JavaScript, with a heavy emphasis on WordPress and Ruby on Rails. Down the road you may end up playing with other languages like Objective-C and Cocoa. If you're the type of person we are looking for, you'll always be excited to learn and experiment with new programming languages.
Work from anywhere
We are looking for talented people anywhere in the world. We don't have an office here in Boise, therefore you will be expected to work remotely wherever you live.
Tools
Some of the tools and technology we currently use include: Apple computers, Git and Github for managing code and tracking bugs, Linode and Heroku for serving our bits to the world, Campfire for group chat, and Basecamp for managing our projects.
