NYC & Company, the official marketing, tourism and partnership organization of New York City, is seeking a full-time, Senior Web Engineer for its Digital team.  This fully staffed in-house group services the Webby-Award winning nycgo.com website. 

We are seeking a Senior Web Developer with ExpressionEngine and CodeIgniter experience to join our development & engineering team.  This position is an in-house, full-time, permanent position and requires strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and OOP concepts; the ability to work nimbly in a fast-moving environment, and a genuine passion for NYC.  

Requirements

• Must have experience with CMS applications, notably ExpressionEngine 2.x.
• Minimum 5 years of PHP and MySQL development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of JavaScript development experience.
• Must be comfortable working in a Windows/IIS environment.
• Should have experience working with the CodeIgniter Framework or similar frameworks.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Pluses

• Experience with jQuery or other JavaScript Frameworks.
• Experience leveraging third-party and social APIs (Foursquare/Facebook/Twitter.)
• Experience with Versioning Control Systems such as Git, CVS, or SVN.
• Understanding of Akamai Caching or similar service.
• Familiarity with administering Google Search Appliance.
• Experience with Web tracking implementation, such as Omniture or Google Analytics.
• Mobile development (WAP/iOS/Android).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the migration of the current environment to a full LAMP stack later in the year.
• Maintain / Extend nycgo.com via the use of custom and purchased ExpressionEngine modules, add-ons, and applications.
• Promote development best practices.
• Work with the project management and front-end team to implement site and architecture changes.
• Meet the technical requirements of NYC & Company's various marketing programs and City initiatives.
