Our agile development team is working on exciting new features to change the face of online giving.  We're looking for a few new positions to round out our team.

First, we are looking for smart UI developers who have a love for creating excellent user experiences with advanced front-end technologies, and would love to do so in a Rails environment.

We are also looking for smart Rails developers who understand Ruby and Rails under the hood.  We need engineers that understand the “Rails Way” and prefer developing in a solid agile environment.

Front End Developer

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for front-end UI design and implementation, and ensuring an excellent user experience. You will also help with general software engineering needs for our product. Your job will be instrumental in helping individuals and nonprofits raise money and in assisting donors to make a difference through giving.

You will be successful at Razoo by:

• Designing and writing high performance, elegant, and reliable code for both the front-end/UI and back-end of our web platform
• Problem solving and having the intellectual curiosity to find technical solutions that are the quickest and easiest to build, yet also the most robust
• Keeping up-to-date on the latest tools and trends
• Working collaboratively with a team of developers, business personnel, QA team members, and creative designers
• Working cross-functionally in software development (i.e. full Rails stack), but bringing particular strength in front-end technologies
• Taking the initiative to improve development, testing, measurement and deployment processes
• Possessing the drive to consistently deliver results, being disciplined to work on your own with light supervision

Required skills:

• Excellent problem solving skills
• 3+ years web front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• 3+ years MVC web framework experience
• 3+ years jQuery and related front-end technologies
• Ability to build robust view-code from design comps (Photoshop, etc)
• Ability to design and build modern, user-friendly front-end experiences
• Cross-browser compliance
• Solid common-sense understanding of UX issues
• Experience with A/B testing and gathering user feedback to inform UX
• Ability to have healthy debates about usability, and willingness to be wrong
• Agile development processes and good track record of teamwork
• Git and/or other version control systems

Desired skills:

• 1+ years Ruby on Rails experience
• Contributions to jQuery related projects, or to significant open source projects
• Active participation in the Rails community
• Sass and related technologies to wrap CSS
• Experience researching new technologies
• Experience building personal web apps and side projects as hobbies
