The Opportunity
Exciting early stage opportunity, Basho is a privately held startup company. Although Riak is open source, we currently have many commercial clients. Our client opportunities are growing in both number and scope and we are looking for talented individuals to join the team. In this role you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and development of scalable distributed storage applications.
Responsibilities Include:
• Defining the architecture and strategy of distributed storage solutions for clients.
• Working with a team of world-class engineers and executive management.
• Develop processes and frameworks to implement solutions.
• Work with engineering to improve core product offerings.

Candidate Requirements
• 3-8+ years’ experience with custom software development
• Positive attitude, professional presence and demeanor
• Organized, self-managing, requiring little supervision
• Can own a problem, present designs, and accept feedback professionally
• Proven track record of developing solutions in Java or Ruby, (experience with Erlang is a plus)
• Experience with various NoSQL DBs (Cassandra, BigTable, Redis, CouchDB, MongoDB, etc.), and when to use them. Experience with Hadoop and MapReduce
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related
