The company was originally founded as mitfahrgelegenheit.de by three students in Germany in 2001 offering a cost-efficient traveling solution. Today, the site is available in 7 languages and 9 local platforms including: Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland and Greece. We are looking for someone to join us in our Munich office in the role of:

Junior Developer PHP5

Permanent full-time position

Tasks

• Design, development and engineering of new exciting and innovative projects and features on our platforms to improve international performance
• Development of new applications for Facebook, iPhone and Android
• Further development (and of course, optimization and refactoring) of our software architecture
• Point of contact for all topics related to software architecture, development and testing

Skills

• Some experience in the development of object-oriented applications with PHP (ideally already familiar with CakePHP framework)
• Current expertise in PHP/MySQL- based application development
• Good knowledge of SQL and MySQL
• Experienced in modern software architecture, design patterns, development methods (e.g. Kanban) and unit and performance tests
• Basic UNIX-/Linux-knowledge, SVN, Bugzilla, and Eclipse
• Methodical and thorough with the ability to prioritize
• High level of commitment and quality awareness
• Eager to work in a fun, collaborative environment, team player and self-responsible
