Position Summary

We have an immediate need for an experienced Rails developer whose mission is to design and develop new features and maintain existing apps and services.  This position is located in our purpose built agile development area, at our Louisville headquarters office in Colorado.

Job Responsibilities

·         Responsible for taking ownership, learning and maintaining existing apps and services as well as adding new capabilities, and building entirely new products.

·         Development of a software solution that requires 24/7 availability.

·         Take part in and share the running of daily stand-ups, bi-weekly retrospective meetings and other collaborative sessions with developers, customers and other key stakeholders.

·         Acting as a resource to provide solutions to customer-reported bugs.

·         Provide input to the estimation process.

Job Requirements

·         Creative programmer who cares about the user experience

·         Ruby on Rails 3

·         OO JavaScript, jQuery

·         CSS3, XHTML/HTML5

·         Experience with AJAX

·         Understanding of information architecture practices and user experience design

·         Understand cross-browser, cross-device, cross-platform issues in web development

·         Experience with a range of databases: MySQL, Oracle etc.

·         Experience with SVN and git source code repositories

·         Agile development methodologies

·         Able to wireframe solutions to quickly express thinking

·         Comfortable with rapid prototyping, evolution and productionisation of projects

·         Able to quickly respond to changes

·         Able to speak to all levels of the business and to people with varying levels of technical understanding

·         Proficient in implementing and/or consuming Web Services

·         Experience with RESTful APIs, XML and JSON

·         Good understanding of relational DB design

·         Proven test driven development (TDD) practices

·         Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design and Programming

·         Live project examples a bonus

·         Involvement in open source projects a bonus
