Food52: VP Technology

Food52 is a leading cooking and community site. We're looking for a VP Technology to join our executive team. Our site and company is located in NYC.  Our company is growing fast, and we have a ton of creative and challenging work ahead, particularly in improving the social fabric of the site and in our real-time food q&a platform. We're looking for someone with great product vision -- someone who is still coding, who embraces social technologies, and who can help us shape our future and build out our team.

Our Tech Stack:

• Ruby on Rails
• Prototype + JQuery
• Git
• Capistrano
• MySQL
• Amazon EC2 + S3
• Google Analytics
• iOS apps for the iPad and iPhone

Responsibilities:

• Work with the business and tech to design effective product solutions
• Collaborate with the founders on the strategic direction of the company
• Code in Ruby, Javascript, or a few MySQL queries
• Help recruit, mentor and train other developers
• Obsessively improve the tech stack
• Usability/UX Testing is a plus

Requirements:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Extensive experience working in Software development
• Product and design savvy
• Excellent communication skills 
• Startup and management experience is a plus
• SEO knowledge is a plus
• Facebook and Twitter API knowledge is mandatory
• iOS development is a plus
