We are seeking a Web Software Architect to join our Buffalo, NY team of talented software designers. Synacor Architects work in a fast-paced agile environment.  Our products are high-volume and highly available multi-tenant web applications written in PHP, Perl, and Java serving millions of unique visitors each day.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Synacor provides many daily challenges and interesting problems to solve!  You would be responsible for managing our architecture review process, helping to ensure new products under development are robust and scalable, mentoring development teams on architecture design and operational concerns such as capacity, deployability, rollback, monitoring, logging, and debugging.

 

In addition, you would contribute to our ongoing infrastructure improvement and automation projects such as expanding our datacenter virtualization, automating configuration management, increasing availability and robustness of the infrastructure, integrating open source projects into our environment, and contributing to open source projects.

 

Synacor also sponsors several open source conferences and local meet-up groups where you could attend or present topics which interest you.

 

 

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

We’re looking for bright, independent, self-motivated individuals.  Experience succeeding (and failing!) at implementing web sites under high volume, or involving tens of servers cooperating together is a must-have skill for this position.
