If you love Starcraft, and you love coding, now's your chance to put your skills to work on your passion.
ggtracker.com helps players win more and go deeper into the games they love, with personalized stats, charts and coaching. We're applying the power of data to make Starcraft more fun and interesting for fans and players.
Our alpha site has been up for less than a month. Although we've only built a few of our ideas and done no paid promotion at all, we already have hundreds of users hooked and are receiving very loving emails.
Why Starcraft?
Because Starcraft is awesome :) It's a beautiful game that millions love to play (4.5 million units sold worldwide) and millions more love to watch (twitch.tv). The community has a deep nerd streak, with an appetite for statistical analysis.
Furthermore, Starcraft is begging to be subjected to 21st-century analytical tools. In every game, the computer records every action taken by every player, which we can shred dozens of different ways to uncover meaningful metrics about playstyle, strategic choices, and player strengths and weaknesses.
Notably, the Starcraft community has developed a meaningful coaching business. For pro players and teams, coaching is one of their major sources of income, alongside sponsorship.
