TraceLink is seeking a full-time, experienced, Front-end Web Developer to join our team. If you’re self-motivated, intellectually curious, and excited by turning ideas into exceptional user experiences, you could be a good fit for our team.

As a Lead Front-end Web Developer, you will be a key contributor on our Engineering team, responsible for the interface components of high-end, high-quality, enterprise-class web applications.

Responsibilities

The Front-end Web Developer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of interface code and other interface elements, as well as all related activities within a web application development process. You will:

• Design, build and maintain dynamic web pages within the TraceLink application while working cross-functionally with various groups and stakeholders in the organization.
• Write elegant, maintainable, and well-organized HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
• Play a lead role in designing the aesthetics of the TraceLink application. Act as the layer between front-end design and back end services.
• Squash cross-browser issues, including IE7/8/9, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. Yes, all developers are frustrated by IE, but as long as users use it, we will support it.
• Work closely with QA to make sure your code passes tests
• Set the standards for UI team members to follow. Create templates that demonstrate repeatable designs for implementing standard types of pages within the product.
• Accurately estimate tasks, and hit those estimates
• Participate in scrums

Skills and Requirements:

Candidates must possess the following skills and traits:

• 5+ years software development experience
• Extensive experience developing user interfaces for enterprise applications with hand-coded HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within a development environment utilizing either Perl, Python, Ruby, Java or Scala
• Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3
• Strong Javascript coding skills leveraging prototypal inheritance, modules, and other standard design patterns.
• Deep knowledge of coding efficiently with jQuery
• Experience with modern web application frameworks.
• Experience developing asynchronous interface using AJAX
• Passionate about code efficiency and page load time, and know techniques to up page load time
• Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform implementations and associated issues
• Experience with software development best practices, development methodologies, version control, defect tracking
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, and collaborate with other disciplines
• BS or equivalent required
• Excellent communication skills

Helpful skills and experience:

• Experience developing a product in an Agile development environment
• Experience programming in Scala and with the Lift web framework
• Familiar with a Javascript MVC framework such as Backbone, KnockOut and Ember.js
