We are looking for a solid design/development generalist to join our team as our tech and design product lead.

We are an internal startup at a successful, category-leading cultural sector business. Starting from a classic idea, we are building a new way for people to talk about and share cultural experiences. We need someone to take the reins and help us turn our prototype into a product. You will design and develop beautiful interfaces and a robust backend, lead our staff and contract designers and developers and work closely with our executive team to grow our product into a successful enterprise.

Specific Responsibilities include:

1. Leading the efforts of our small tech and design team of staff and contractors
2. Developing in Ruby, Rails, JS and supporting technologies
3. Designing web and mobile product interfaces
4. Working closely with our Product Manager and executives to maintain the product roadmap
5. Supporting and improving company culture
6. Driving our technology strategy
7. Mentoring staff members
8. Figuring out what 8 is for
9. Guiding team growth
10. Maintaining and improving team process

The Ideal Candidate will:

1. Have a high EQ and get along well with others
2. Have designed, built and delivered full stack web projects
3. Have proficiency with designing and developing user experience for the web and mobile
4. Have proficiency in Ruby, Rails, JS and the necessary underlying technologies
5. Have a desire to lead and grow a development and design team and have opinions about how that can be done
