Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of web standards and best practices (HTML5/CSS3) a must
  • Expertise in cross-browser HTML and CSS & cross-browser compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, and DOM manipulation
  • Significant experience (3+ years) with client-side libraries/frameworks such as JQuery and Prototype
  • Significant experience with MVC web frameworks
  • Ability to build robust template code from design comps (Photoshop, etc)
  • Ability to design and build modern, user-friendly front-end experiences
  • Ability to use scripting languages as needed (preferably Perl)
  • Experience with designing end-user, web-based applications
  • Experience with a server-side web framework (JSP, PHP, Mason, etc)
  • Experience with a version control system (Perforce a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate & follow through
  • Familiarity with responsive design
  • Familiarity with mobile browser quirks
  • Familiarity with open source projects, such as Apache, Tomcat, Varnish, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent work habits & thrives in a professional yet informal work setting
