The Opportunity:

Synacor is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead the design, architecture and development of custom solutions for Synacor’s clients. The solutions architect will act as a liaison with client technical team members and deliver excellent presentation, technical design, and architecture documentation.

 

The Solutions Engineering team defines product and technical solutions for new and existing clients.  We are looking for team members who are innovative thinkers and aren’t afraid to think outside the box to meet client and Synacor goals.

 

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead technical dialog (conference calls, onsite technical meetings etc) throughout the pre and post sales process
• Work with internal and external business representatives and business analysts to quickly understand requirements and evaluate, select, implement, and integrate technology tools into a client solution
• Provide analysis and estimates on scope, solutions design, prototyping and level of effort during discovery and definition phases of new projects for existing and potential clients
• Present recommendations to management and clients regarding product configuration.
• Provide support and leadership in network design and architecture as well as provide product updates and advice to Synacor clients.
• Prepare and maintain PowerPoint presentations, whitepapers, solution design documents and other collateral for use within the sales process
• Maintain a broad understanding of Synacor technology and trends in the industry
• Work and deliver under tight timeline and ability to multi-task.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

·       Bachelor of Computer Science or related field preferred

·       5-7 years related experience in software or website development

• Proficiency in CSS, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, and PHP a must. SQL, AJAX, and Photoshop desired.

·       Independent problem-solving, self-direction.

• Ability to work in complex customer environments with delivery that is responsive to internal and external Customer's expectations.
• Must have effective communications skills, both oral and written.
• Require ability to accurately estimate, plan, and report work efforts.
• Required to be able to analyze and solve technically related project issues.

·       Experience leading engineering teams preferred

·       Experience with a large mail system utilizing software such as qmail, postfix, sendmail or cyrus a plus
