MN Works LLC: Full time experienced LAMP/Javascript developer (+bounty!)

We are building an amazing adult entertainment service (don't get excited; it's not porn) that will send ripples throughout the industry. We have about 70% of the backend code ready, a great visual design under construction, and a serious marketing push standing by. We need you to help us implement fluid, responsive interfaces with your excellent Javascript skills, and help complete the PHP backend by providing the data the UI needs.

We're looking for a developer we can collaborate with who loves solving difficult problems - we’re not looking for a code monkey. You will be working directly with the project lead and the interface designer and will be writing the bulk of the code from this point on. We’re looking for someone we can trust to know what they’re doing and develop workable solutions to real problems. Your ideas on how to improve our site and services will be a valuable asset in our success.

Here’s what we need you to do...

• Let’s start with our front end Javascript code. We have an incredible designer who is building an amazing responsive site and needs your assistance implementing a mix of jQuery and custom JS to build the actions, animations, and general UI goodness that is such a fundamental part of the web’s best apps.
• Next comes a PHP backend that serves up the data that runs the Javascript. We have a great base to build on, but we need enhancements to support the new UI, new features for the users, and additional scalability added in. Your additions will be fast, efficient, stable, and scalable across anything from 1 to 10,000 servers.
• Speaking of 10,000 servers, your code will be running on a growing network of machines so you’ll be assisting in designing and deploying that network. You’ll be expected to have a solid understanding of advanced web tech - things like AWS, CDNs, load balanced web servers, MySQL master/slave clusters and the like. We’re not asking you to be an expert in server/network administration, just that you be able to explain in high level terms the above terms and hopefully help us brainstorm possible problems and solutions.
• Think you’re done? Not a chance. This is a permanent job you’re applying for, there is no “done”. You’ll be writing code as we quickly and continually add new features to the site. You will be the primary source of code going forward and your opinions will be sought whenever we add new features.

Sound like fun? That’s our first requirement: you must enjoy writing code. In addition you must posses:

• Proven skills. We're not looking for a fresh-out-of-school rookie developer here. We need someone who has at least 3 years of experience taking difficult tasks and building awesome applications. You must be able to show examples of your experience and explain the challenges you faced and how you succeeded. We’re looking for someone to take a difficult problem and get it done. No excuses, no delays, just cold, hard results.
• Javascript! A large percentage of your code out of the gate will be enhancing the interface with fluid, responsive techniques that work across all devices and screen sizes. You will be making the incredible interfaces our designer is creating functional, fast, and compatible across all major browsers.
• Solid PHP experience. The interface you will be building needs to save and fetch it’s data from somewhere, and that’s PHP/MySQL. We’ll know you have the skills because you’ll guide us through projects you’ve completed that run efficiently and scale smoothly in a multi server environment.
• Native English skills and availability during the day Mountain time (North America). We don't care if you telecommute from Timbuktu, but we need the ability to bounce ideas and concepts back and forth on chat and Skype, and that requires that you converse fluently in English and be around during our business hours.
• Available for full time work. We’ll admit it, we’re selfish. We're not looking for contractors or agencies for this position, we don’t want someone who’ll blow by the initial requirements in search of a single quick payday. We want to hire a great developer that’s invested long-term in our success. You'll work for us full time and no one else.
• The ability to work fast and under pressure. If you thrive on a tight schedule you'll love this job. We’re not unreasonable in our timelines, but we certainly don’t sit on our asses while our competitors sneak up on us. We like to stay at the front of the pack and you need to be able to keep up.
• The ability to work on your own and deliver great results. We're not here to babysit and we won't be looking over your shoulder. Seriously, really, we won't - we don’t care if you have to go to the dentist next Tuesday at 2pm. We do expect you to build great code and functional interfaces for us in the timeframe we agree on.

• We're a super driven, occasionally intense, slightly neurotic, teensy bit eclectic, money hungry, smart as hell, hard working / hard playing, uniquely cool team (just your average startup) who keep our eye on the ball while having a ball doing it. This will be the most fun you’ve ever had at a job.
