Location: San Francisco, CA
URL: http://omadahealth.com

Omada is a new company that is seed-funded by top investors such as Esther Dyson and Kapor Capital (see - http://goo.gl/4bFJE). We're hiring one more RoR / JavaScript dev to join our team.

About Omada
We are using cutting edge research in behavior change, game mechanics, and preventive medicine to build an online platform for disease prevention. 1/3rd of all adults in the US have prediabetes and we're building tools to help them prevent getting diabetes. Since diabetes is enormously expensive to the medical system ($174B / year), there are significant costs to be avoided by preventing it up front, and we're building a scalable solution to do so. A number of health care companies have expressed strong interest in using our software to curb the cost of these diseases for their covered populations.

Our company was first conceived as an internal project at global design consulting firm IDEO. In May, we left IDEO to join startup incubator Rock Health. We’ve now graduated from Rock Health and have recently closed an $800K seed round with participants including Ester Dyson, NEA, Aberdare, Kapor Capital, TriplePoint Ventures, and a few other angels.

We're a group of passionate and talented individuals, drawn from Harvard Medical School, Google, IDEO, Lattice Engines, and Amazon. We work extremely fast but have a lot of fun and are all very creative.

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a top-notch Ruby-on-Rails + Javascript developer (who tends to lean a little bit more toward the front end) to join us as our third software engineer. Our only hard criteria is that you've had recent web-development experience with these languages, as we'll need you to hit the ground running. Passion for building rich, beautiful interfaces, is also a plus, as you'll be working with an exceptional designer (http://www.quitecurious.com/).

Right now we’re stacking JQuery, Backbone.js, RoR, and PostgreSQL, and we fully intend to extend into mobile once we complete our web app. We’re fortunate to be in a spot where we get paid for results, not pageviews, so we look forward to experimenting with various delivery media.

Compensation/benefits
Competitive salary and generous equity, health insurance, top-o-the-line Apple hardware, a box of fruits and veggies every two weeks, and more.

Relocation
If you’re talented, we’ll move you to San Francisco. Please don’t be shy if you’re from out-of-town! Also, under certain circumstances, we may be open to working remotely. Let us know the best arrangement for you.

To apply: Please send an introductory email to jobs@omadahealth.com with your resume attached! Electronic resumes and LinkedIn profiles are fine.
