Factory 77: WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Position: Web Application Developer

Type: Full Time + Part Time

Location: Bay Shore, NY

We are a small team of developers working within the music and entertainment merchandising industry looking for a self-motivated developer to join our team. You will work on mostly LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) technologies providing maintenance and continued development.

We are open to well-seasoned candidates as well as those who are looking to learn a few things on the job.

What we really need...

• Solid experience with PHP5/MySQL and someone who subscribes to the KISS principle and a Kaizen philosophy.
• Solid experience with CSS3, HTML5, one or more Javascript frameworks (we're currently using mostly jQuery) as well as an understanding of cross-browser issues.
• Someone who is self-starter, team player and a finisher!
• Someone in the Long Island/NYC area that can spend some time with us in our Bay Shore, New York space.

A definite plus...

• Experience with Linux system administration and web server configuration
• Magento theme and module development (and a general understanding of the special challenges of eCommerce)
• Ability to make a network cable (on occasion!)
• Experience with file versioning systems (Subversion, Mercurial)
• A keen sense of design when it comes to UI (We have an art/design team, but it definitely helps to have an appreciation for the end-UX when doing front-end development)
• Patience with legacy code and a passion to reengineer, rewrite and improve
• Windows 2003 Server administration
• Windows XP/7 desktop support (we're a small team; on occasion we have to play tech support)
