Position Summary:
The front-end developer is proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop, maintain, and optimize the www.ujafedny.org front-end user experience.
Responsibilities:
·         Develops, tests, and debugs HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the website.
·         Maintains and optimizes website to minimize load and processing time.
·         Full QA and testing in all modern browsers.
·         Ensures standards-compliant web development for accessibility and future compatibility of the website front end.
·         Develops in JavaScript using such frameworks as jQuery and Modernizr.
·         Collaborates with other technical members on developing applications and systems.
Experience, Skills, and Education
·         Bachelor’s degree required.
·         Software-engineering background, including experience in software-development methodologies, best practices, and industry-standard design principles.
·         One to three years of experience in developing websites or web applications using HTML 5 (or XHTML), CSS 2+, and JavaScript.
·         Experience with jQuery is a must; experience with Modernizr, Prototype, Scriptaculous, and other popular JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
·         Ability to quickly diagnose browser issues, and define and propose optimal solutions to technical issues.
·         Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
·         Ability to work independently and as a team player.
·         Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
