Overview
Fractured Atlas, a leading national non-profit organization that provides infrastructure for the arts, is seeking a Ruby on Rails developer to work on Artful.ly and the ATHENA project.
Artful.ly provides arts administrators with tools to help run their organizations. We help theaters fill the house. We help organizations sell out their fundraising gala and make sure everyone is at the right seat with the right table. We make it easy to see when a donor last donated to your organization.
ATHENA is an open source component of Artful.ly allowing for larger organizations to download and install the software for their own use.
We build these tools using a blend of Haml, Javascript, Sass, Solr, MySQL, MongoDB, and Twitter Bootstrap. We're always diving in to new technology to see how it can help make our applications better. If you have some tech that you're really excited about then we'll find a way to use it to make the project better. Some things we would love to see make an appearance in our applications are CoffeeScript, KnockoutJS, and data storage alternatives like Redis.
Your job will be to develop new features for Artful.ly and re-engineer parts of ATHENA into Ruby to make it easier for organizations to implement. We use agile development and the team is very small. You'll have the freedom to take a user story and make it amazing.
More information about Artful.ly and ATHENA can be found at http://artful.ly and http://athena.fracturedatlas.org. More about Fractured Atlas can be found at http://www.fracturedatlas.org.
