The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Front End Developer

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is looking for a front-end developer to join the Mormon.org and JustServe.org teams. Our ideal candidate would have a background in design and development, with strong communication skills.

The position is expected to last up to 1 year, but could be renewed for a 2nd year. There is also a possibility of conversion to regular employment at some point.

Key Responsibilities:

1        Build and maintain pixel perfect interfaces from mockups

2        Maintain and enhance current front-end code

3        Follow processes and standards for project development and quality assurance

4        Stay up to date and share knowledge of standards, emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices

Required Qualifications

1        2+ years of industry experience developing with current versions of HTML, CSS, JavaScript

2        A passion for and understanding of semantics and best practices

3        Experience with version control - GIT or SVN

4        Some experience with interactive design

5        Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fireworks)

6        Strong communication and problem solving skills

 

Bonus Points For:.

7        Experience with LESS, Require.js, and other open web technologies

8        Being a master of responsive/adaptive design

9        Showing passion and appreciation for good design!

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
