MIT Center for Civic Media: Civic Technology Programmer

Resized_logo

Location: Boston, MA
URL: http://civic.mit.edu

The MIT Center for Civic Media is looking to hire someone full-time to help us build out a number of web projects. We're a research group that focuses on how to create technical and social systems that allow communities to share, understand, and act on civic information.

We're looking to build some new hosted RoR & Drupal-backed websites that scale up our offerings. We're building these projects with the communities that use them, so this isn't an isolated lab environment. You should enjoy talking with the end users of the things you build.

Everyone here wears many hats, so we'd expect you to do the same. We're specifically looking for people that have experience with the full stack - DB/server/modules/CSS/JS/UI/UX. MIT is a fun, lively place - and we're housed in the Media Lab, which means there are lots of great people and projects around.

Curious? Tweet @rahulbot with questions. Click the link for full details about the position (in HR speak), and details about how to apply.
