The Work Space
Our office is in Blue Ash, Ohio, 10 miles north of downtown Cincinnati. We work as a team on projects, so most employees work on site at our comfortable office space that includes a kitchen and plenty of coffee, tea and snacks. Staff members also work at times with customers on location, particularly with our local customers here in Greater Cincinnati. We have customers across the USA and in other countries, as well.
The Experience
If you've worked in web development and have experience coding for PHP based content management tools, you may be interested in our approach to content management. We're focused on making website management not just "possible" for our customers, but actually satisfying and successful. It's a tall order, given the growing complexity of the connected world, but it has been our successful focus for over 17 years, and many of our customers have been with us since the beginning.
The Position
This opening is for a full time, on-site staff position as a Web and PHP developer, reporting to our IT Director, and working on projects at his direction. The Day to Day
- Work with project leaders, producers and design staff to review project needs prior to coding.
- Develop solutions for public & private sites, ranging from simple to multi-lingual, multi-domain, mobile, and e-commerce.
- Support existing sites by adding new features and/or modifying existing code, while helping customers think through their needs and best solutions.
- Do what it takes to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Support customers in other areas of online success, from domain registration to email marketing, social media and SEO.
Core Requirements
- Fully literate in PHP, mySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Must have experience taking a site from PSD to launch
- Knowledge of cross-browser challenges and experience coding through them
- Working knowledge of the LAMP stack
- Experience with MVC architecture and template/view coding for a CMS
- Proficient in web-related Adobe products (Photoshop and/or Fireworks)
- Must have experience integrating with APIs
Bonus Points
- Experience working with JavaScript frameworks
- Experience working with the CodeIgniter PHP framework
- Understanding and working knowledge of Relational databases (MySQL, Amazon RDS)
- Love for the Apple empire :-) We’re a team of enthusiastic mac users
- Experience with Google Apps
- An understanding of authentic SEO techniques
