You love breathing life into design prototypes and turning them into simple, beautiful web applications users can effortlessly interact with. Because of your fine attention to detail and polish, designers love
working with you. You maintain a holistic perspective on user experience and how it relates to web business goals, technology, and application development. You’re constantly watching and gleaning from trends related to UX, web design, and web application development. And with specific experience in developing for ecommerce applications, you’re ready to help create an industry leading ecommerce and digital brand experience.
This position reports directly to the Director of Consumer Sales.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Provide expert level web application development and support for the company’s mission critical web applications and underlying infrastructure.
Provide team with expert support and recommendations in assessing solutions related to web projects and meeting business objectives.
Assist team in ensuring web projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with goals and stakeholder expectations.
Work closely and collaboratively with internet and creative teams, as well as individual project stakeholders to ensure project success.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS YOU'LL NEED
5+ years experience as a web developer with specific experience developing for ecommerce platforms and CMS web applications.
Proven ability to work closely with designers and translate visual design into working web applications.
Expert knowledge of front-end web development and underlying technologies including Javascript, CSS, HTML, and AJAX.
Expert knowledge of backend web technologies such as PHP and MySQL.
Experience developing for ecommerce applications. Magento experience a huge plus.
Cross-browser compatibility expertise.
Experience working with Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks.
Strong working knowledge of page performance optimization.
Experience managing hardware support for web applications for small businesses.
Experience setting up and using version control systems.
Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Ability to accept constructive design feedback and quickly adopt design concepts.
Strong collaboration skills.
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
