Dedicated to Online Publications as part of the Application Development team and reporting to the Manager of Application Development, the Web Developer is responsible for the front-end web development that results in the successful production of an exciting, ambitious, and multi-faceted program of online projects and publishing initiatives in a high quality, deadline-driven, and fast-paced environment. Online Publications include but are not limited to the online collection, scholarly and academic publications (including the Museum's Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History), collection and exhibition catalogues, and digital resources.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
·As part of the core Application Development group, work closely with Manager of Online Publications and Online Publications colleagues to develop, implement, and maintain a successful, thoughtful, and intelligent online publishing program.
·Direct and be held accountable for the documentation and technical production of a variety of flexible templates for high content volume and as per project requirements.
·Apply standards and best practices, and promote technical initiatives as appropriate.
·Ensure proper connection and/or integration with the Museum's content and image asset repositories, and establish publishing routines as per project requirements.
·Work closely, creatively, responsibly, and effectively with editors, producers, imagers, designers, collections information managers, database administrators, and back-end web developers to make certain the successful implementation of user interfaces and functionality.
·Demonstrate a passion of the online/networked environment and of industry foresight, and advise Manager of Online Publications on technical development for digital publishing.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
·Experience in electronic publishing required, art museum electronic publishing preferred.
·Advanced experience with HTML, Javascript, CSS, and ASP.NET (C#) required.
·Familiarity with FileMaker Pro and AppleScript preferred.
·Familiarity with SQL, XML, and Photoshop required.
·Familiarity with Sitecore preferred.
·Experience creating and maintaining web applications using ASP.NET required.
·Experience creating and evaluating user interface designs required.
·Ability to research and learn new technologies preferred.
·Ability to work independently, collaboratively, creatively, and on multiple projects simultaneously required.
·Ability to demonstrate effective communication, organizational, diplomatic, and motivational skills required.
Knowledge and Education:
·B.A. in computer science or related field required.
·Knowledge of both Macintosh and Microsoft desktop operating environments preferred.
